ABOUT ME
A jack of 5 trades
RICHARD KARING'URI
GET TO KNOW ME
I’m a jack of five trades—and proud to be a master of all. I’m a photographer, knowledge management specialist, web developer, storyteller, and coffee roaster/brewer. Did I study any of these in college? Not exactly—though I did complete a 2-month coffee course at the East African School of Coffee!
I graduated from the University of Nairobi and later got a field job with a leading healthcare NGO in Kenya, which gave me the chance to travel across the country and connect with Kenyans from every region and culture.
Today, I live in Watamu, Kilifi County, along Kenya’s stunning coastline, where I work as a lecturer at one of the country’s leading colleges of health sciences. When I’m not teaching, I’m out exploring, photographing, and writing about Kenya’s breathtaking landscapes, diverse traditions, and vibrant Kenyan life—all over a good cup of freshly brewed coffee.
Many visitors have written about their travels in Kenya. But this blog is Kenya told by one of her own. After all, the lions must have their historians so that the story of hunting is not told only by the hunters.
